Dawn Bautista has had no formal education in art, no awards, nor does she belong to any fancy associations. She simply loves art, both viewing others' creations and making and sharing hers.

 

Born in a small town in Montana, Dawn was interested in art at a young age. As early as kindergarten, she wanted to be an artist when she grew up. As a young adult in Brookings, Oregon, Dawn finally started a small business selling her art at festivals and in galleries. For one of her first projects, she had the privilege of illustrating a book (A Garden For Allegra, by Rebecca Rose). After a couple of years, along came marriage and children. This was a wonderful distraction for many years. It took most of her focus away for some time. She did paint a few murals and art for friends, but nothing professionally.

Now settled in Veneta, Oregon, her children mostly raised, she's picked up art again! Dawn enjoys landscape art, inspired by impressionist artists. She's done a couple of still-life paintings. But her favorite subject has always been watching a portrait come to life. Starting at the beginning of 2023, Dawn once again started up her business.
